Agmatine Sulfate

2-(4-aminobutyl)guanidine sulfate

Agmatine sulfate is the sulfate salt of agmatine, the decarboxylation product of L-arginine, chemically 2-(4-aminobutyl)guanidine sulfate (CAS 2482-00-0, C5H16N4O4S, MW 228.27). Agmatine retains the guanidino group of arginine but loses its carboxyl group, and the sulfate counter-ion gives a stable, water-soluble crystalline salt. It is produced from fermentation-derived arginine and supplied as a crystalline powder at a typical assay of at least 98%. We manufacture it in powder and capsule formats.
