Betaine nitrate is the 1:1 nitrate salt of betaine, or trimethylglycine (CAS 93778-42-8, C5H12N2O5, MW 180.16), pairing the betaine cation with a nitrate counter-ion. Unlike the near-neutral anhydrous free base and the acidic hydrochloride and citrate salts, its counter-ion is nitrate, so the material carries both the betaine and nitrate moieties within a single defined salt. It is produced synthetically and supplied as a crystalline powder. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
