D-Aspartic Acid (DAA)

(2R)-2-aminobutanedioic acid

D-Aspartic acid (DAA) is the free-form D-enantiomer of aspartic acid, chemically (2R)-2-aminobutanedioic acid (CAS 1783-96-6, C4H7NO4, MW 133.10). It is the non-proteinogenic mirror image of the dietary L-aspartic acid, sharing the same molecular formula and molecular weight but the opposite configuration at the alpha carbon, and it is offered as a separate family in this catalogue. It is produced synthetically and supplied as a crystalline powder standardized to a typical assay of at least 98%. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
