Dimethylglycine (DMG)

2-(dimethylamino)acetic acid

Dimethylglycine (DMG) is the free-base N,N-dimethylated derivative of glycine, chemically 2-(dimethylamino)acetic acid (CAS 1118-68-9, C4H9NO2, MW 103.12), a methyl-donor compound historically associated with the non-official designation 'vitamin B15'. It shares its molecular formula and molecular weight with GABA but differs structurally, carrying two methyl groups on the nitrogen of a glycine backbone. It is produced synthetically and supplied as a crystalline powder at a typical assay of at least 98%. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
