GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid)

GABA (synthetic)

4-aminobutanoic acid

GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is a non-proteinogenic amino acid, chemically 4-aminobutanoic acid (CAS 56-12-2, C4H9NO2, MW 103.12), in which the amino group sits on the gamma carbon rather than the alpha carbon of a standard amino acid. This grade is produced by chemical synthesis and supplied as a crystalline powder at a typical purity of at least 99%. It is chemically identical to the fermentation-derived PharmaGABA grade but differs in its production route, being synthesized rather than made by microbial fermentation. We manufacture it in powder, capsule, tablet and gummy formats.
