L-DOPA, or levodopa, is a naturally occurring amino acid, chemically (2S)-2-amino-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid (CAS 59-92-7, C9H11NO4, MW 197.19), the catechol-bearing precursor to dopamine. It is supplied as a seed extract of the plant Mucuna pruriens standardized to a defined L-DOPA content, available across a broad range from approximately 15% to 99%, rather than as a synthetic isolate. It is supplied as a powdered extract. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet and powder formats.
