Beta-Cryptoxanthin is the monohydroxy xanthophyll (3R)-beta,beta-caroten-3-ol (CAS 472-70-8; C40H56O, molecular weight 552.85), a provitamin-A carotenoid that is structurally beta-carotene bearing a single hydroxyl on one ring. It is sourced from citrus and paprika (Capsicum) and standardised to a stated carotenoid percentage. It is an orange-red lipophilic pigment supplied as an oil suspension or beadlet. We manufacture it in softgels, capsules and powders.
