Diosmetin 7-O-rutinoside

Diosmin is a citrus flavone glycoside, diosmetin 7-O-rutinoside (CAS 520-27-4; C28H32O15, molecular weight 608.54). It is commonly produced by semi-synthesis from citrus hesperidin, in which the flavanone is dehydrogenated to the corresponding flavone, and is standardised by HPLC. It is frequently supplied micronised and in combination with hesperidin. It differs from hesperidin in being a flavone rather than a flavanone, carrying the extra C2-C3 double bond that defines the flavone backbone. It is supplied as an off-white to pale-yellow powder. We manufacture it in tablets, capsules and powders.
