Fucoxanthin (Brown Seaweed)

Fucoxanthin (allenic xanthophyll carotenoid 3'-acetate)

Fucoxanthin is a marine xanthophyll carotenoid (CAS 3351-86-8; C42H58O6, molecular weight 658.91), distinguished among carotenoids by its allenic bond, a 5,6-epoxide and a 3'-acetate group. It is extracted from brown seaweed such as Undaria pinnatifida (wakame) and Laminaria, and is standardised to a stated fucoxanthin percentage by HPLC. It is a lipophilic material supplied as an oil-based oleoresin or beadlet. We manufacture it in softgels, capsules, powders and liquids.
