Tangeretin

5,6,7,8-tetramethoxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one (4',5,6,7,8-pentamethoxyflavone)

Tangeretin is the polymethoxyflavone 5,6,7,8-tetramethoxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one, also named 4',5,6,7,8-pentamethoxyflavone (CAS 481-53-8; C20H20O7, molecular weight 372.37). It is extracted from citrus peel and standardised by HPLC. It carries five methoxy groups, one fewer than the hexamethoxy citrus flavone nobiletin, which accounts for its lower molecular weight. It is supplied as an off-white to pale-yellow powder. We manufacture it in capsules and powders.
