Taxifolin (Dihydroquercetin)

(2R,3R)-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-2,3-dihydro-4H-chromen-4-one

Taxifolin, also called dihydroquercetin, is the dihydroflavonol (2R,3R)-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-2,3-dihydro-4H-chromen-4-one (CAS 480-18-2; C15H12O7, molecular weight 304.25), extracted from the wood of Siberian larch (Larix sibirica). It is standardised by HPLC, commonly to 90-98%, and supplied as an off-white crystalline powder. It is the 2,3-dihydro (saturated C-ring) counterpart of quercetin, which gives it the molecular formula C15H12O7 against quercetin's C15H10O7. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets and powders.
