Danshen, or red sage (Salvia miltiorrhiza), root and rhizome extract, standardised by HPLC to salvianolic acid B (commonly 5-10%) and, in tanshinone grades, to the lipophilic tanshinones. It is a whole-plant botanical extract that retains the native root matrix rather than a single compound purified from the plant. The root has a long history of use in traditional Chinese herbal practice. It is supplied as a dry powder, and we manufacture it in capsule, tablet and powder dosage formats.
