Manganese Oxide

Manganese(II) oxide

Manganese oxide is the simple divalent oxide of manganese, manganese(II) oxide (CAS 1344-43-0; MnO, MW 70.94), and the most manganese-dense of the common manganese sources at roughly 77% elemental manganese, far above the sulfate, gluconate, citrate and chelated grades. Like the carbonate it is essentially water-insoluble, in contrast to the soluble organic salts. It is a green to grey-green powder used as a low-cost fortification source, manufactured into tablets, capsules and powder blends.
