Potassium Carbonate

Potassium carbonate is the dipotassium salt of carbonic acid (CAS 584-08-7; K2CO3, MW 138.21), a strongly alkaline inorganic salt also known as potash. At about 57% elemental potassium it is the most potassium-dense form in the family, slightly above the chloride and well above the organic-acid salts such as citrate and gluconate. It is highly water-soluble and markedly alkaline in reaction, which distinguishes it from the near-neutral chloride and the mildly alkaline bicarbonate. We supply it as a white hygroscopic powder for powders, capsules and tablets.
