L-Citrulline is the free-form, non-protein amino acid (2S)-2-amino-5-(carbamoylamino)pentanoic acid, CAS 372-75-8, molecular formula C6H13N3O3 (MW 175.19). It is manufactured by microbial fermentation and supplied at a typical assay of at least 98%. Unlike the malate grades in this family it carries no bound malic acid, so it holds the highest citrulline fraction per gram of the family and presents as the bare amino acid rather than an acid salt or co-processed blend. The material is a white crystalline, free-flowing powder. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet dosage formats.
