Gymnema (Gymnema sylvestre, gurmar), leaf. This is the high-potency member of the standardized series, a leaf solvent extract assayed gravimetrically to 75% total gymnemic acids, three times the marker level of the 25% grade and half again above the 50% grade. As a highly concentrated marker-standardized extract it differs from the non-standardized whole leaf powder and the ratio-defined 4:1 native extract, neither of which is adjusted to a gymnemic acid percentage. It is supplied as a fine dry extract powder. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets, and powder.
