Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens)

Saw Palmetto Oil (85% Total Fatty Acids)

Serenoa repens (ripe fruit/berry)

Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) is a fan palm whose dried ripe berries are the plant part used for this material. This grade is a liposterolic oil obtained by supercritical CO2 or hexane extraction and assayed by gas chromatography to 85% total fatty acids, supplied as a solvent-free whole extract rather than an isolated compound. Unlike the family's dried powder grades, it is a flowable oil concentrate defined by its fatty-acid assay, and it carries a higher fatty-acid percentage than the 25% powder extract. Its physical form is a viscous liposterolic oil. We manufacture it into softgel and liquid dosage formats.
