Ammonium Molybdate

Ammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate

Ammonium molybdate, supplied as ammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate (CAS 12054-85-2, (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O, molecular weight 1235.86), is a white crystalline inorganic salt built on a polynuclear heptamolybdate anion in which seven hexavalent molybdenum atoms share a single cluster. It is produced from mineral molybdenum feedstock and is an EU-authorised molybdenum source for food supplements. Unlike the mononuclear disodium molybdate grades it carries an ammonium rather than sodium counter-ion and the clustered heptamolybdate structure, and at roughly 54% Mo it holds the highest elemental molybdenum load of the family, well above the glycinate chelate at about 2.5% Mo. We manufacture it as a crystalline powder in capsule, tablet and powder formats.
