Berberine HCl

Berberine hydrochloride

Berberine HCl is the hydrochloride salt of the plant isoquinoline alkaloid berberine (CAS 633-65-8, C20H18ClNO4, MW 371.81 g/mol). It is standardized to not less than 97% berberine hydrochloride by HPLC, making it a purified single-compound salt rather than a whole-plant grade such as the Berberis aristata root extract or root powder. As the hydrochloride, it carries a different counter-ion, molecular formula and molecular weight from the Berberine Sulfate grade, and it is the most widely traded berberine material in the category. It presents as a characteristically yellow crystalline powder and is manufactured into capsule, tablet and bulk powder formats.
