Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea), purple coneflower, drawn from the aerial parts and root and extracted to concentrate its lipophilic fraction. It is standardized to alkylamides (isobutylamides), typically 0.5% to 1% by HPLC, targeting the fat-soluble amide markers rather than the water-soluble phenolics used to standardize the polyphenol and cichoric acid grades. This marker focus, together with the inclusion of root as well as aerial material, distinguishes it from the aerial-only standardized extracts in the family and from the ratio-based concentrates. It is supplied as a brown extract powder. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, powder and liquid formats.
