This grade is produced from the fruit of Tribulus terrestris (puncture vine), a dry solvent extract of the milled fruit rather than an isolated compound. It is standardized to 40% total steroidal saponins, with the saponin class quantified as a whole by UV-Vis spectrophotometric and gravimetric assay. Unlike the aerial-parts material in our protodioscin-standardized and Tribestan grades, it is drawn from the fruit, and unlike the HPLC protodioscin grade it is measured against the total saponin class rather than a single furostanol saponin; it sits at the lower marker level of our two fruit-extract concentrations. It is supplied as a free-flowing tan to brown powder. We manufacture it into capsules, tablets, and bulk powder.
