L-Asparagine

L-Asparagine (anhydrous)

(2S)-2,4-diamino-4-oxobutanoic acid

L-Asparagine anhydrous is the water-free form of the non-essential amino acid, chemically (2S)-2,4-diamino-4-oxobutanoic acid (CAS 70-47-3, C4H8N2O3, MW 132.12), the amide of aspartic acid. As the anhydrous grade it carries no water of crystallization, giving a higher amino-acid content per gram than the monohydrate. It is produced by microbial fermentation and supplied as a crystalline powder standardized to a typical assay of at least 99%. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
