L-Asparagine Monohydrate

(2S)-2,4-diamino-4-oxobutanoic acid monohydrate

L-Asparagine monohydrate is the hydrated crystalline form of the non-essential amino acid L-asparagine (CAS 5794-13-8, C4H10N2O4, MW 150.13), carrying one water of crystallization. It is the most commonly traded asparagine grade and differs from the anhydrous form by that single crystal water, which gives a correspondingly lower amino-acid content per gram. It is produced by microbial fermentation and supplied as a crystalline powder standardized to a typical assay of at least 99%. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
