L-Lysine Hydrochloride (L-Lysine HCl)

(2S)-2,6-diaminohexanoic acid hydrochloride

L-Lysine hydrochloride is the monohydrochloride salt of L-lysine (CAS 657-27-2, C6H15ClN2O2, MW 182.65) and the dominant commercial lysine raw material. It is produced by combining fermentation-derived L-lysine with hydrochloric acid, yielding a stable, water-soluble crystalline powder corresponding to approximately 80% L-lysine base by mass. The chloride counter-ion makes it more free-flowing and moisture-stable than the free base, while lowering the lysine content per unit mass. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
