DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) is the racemic form of phenylalanine (CAS 150-30-1), an approximately equal mixture of the D- and L-isomers; it shares the molecular formula C9H11NO2 and the molecular weight of 165.19 with the single L-enantiomer but carries its own CAS number. It is chemically synthesized rather than fermentation-derived, which makes it the racemic counterpart to the single-isomer L-phenylalanine grade. It is supplied as a crystalline powder. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
