Baicalein 7-O-beta-D-glucuronide

Baicalin is a flavone glycoside, baicalein 7-O-beta-D-glucuronide (CAS 21967-41-9; C21H18O11, molecular weight 446.36), extracted from the root of Scutellaria baicalensis (Chinese skullcap). It is standardised by HPLC, commonly to 85-95%, and supplied as a pale-yellow powder. Unlike the family's aglycone grade, baicalein, it carries a glucuronic acid unit at the 7-position, which raises its molecular weight and its water solubility relative to the sugar-free form. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets and powders.
