L-Glutathione (Reduced)

gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine (reduced glutathione, GSH)

L-Glutathione (reduced) is the tripeptide thiol gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine (CAS 70-18-8; C10H17N3O6S, molecular weight 307.32), the reduced form carrying a free cysteinyl thiol (-SH) group. It is produced by yeast fermentation and supplied as an HPLC-assayed crystalline powder. Unlike the family's S-acetyl grade, it bears a free, unprotected thiol rather than an acetylated one, which is why it is handled and stored to limit oxidation to its disulphide. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets, softgels, powders and liquids.
