S-Acetyl-L-Glutathione

S-acetyl-gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine

S-Acetyl-L-glutathione is the S-acetyl derivative of glutathione, S-acetyl-gamma-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine (CAS 3054-47-5; C12H19N3O7S, molecular weight 349.36), produced by acetylating the cysteinyl thiol of fermentation-derived glutathione. Capping the thiol as an acetyl group raises the molecular weight from 307.32 for reduced glutathione to 349.36 and protects the sulphur against oxidation, which is the technical distinction from the free-thiol reduced grade. It is supplied as an HPLC-assayed powder. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets and powders.
