Rosemary Extract (Carnosic Acid)

Carnosic acid (abietane-type diterpene phenol)

Rosemary Extract is standardised to carnosic acid, the abietane-type diterpene phenol of formula C20H28O4 (CAS 3650-09-7; molecular weight 332.44), the principal antioxidant marker of rosemary alongside its oxidation product carnosol. It is extracted from rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) leaf and standardised to a stated carnosic acid content by HPLC; as a food-grade natural antioxidant it is catalogued as E392. It is supplied as an off-white to pale-green powder or as an oil-dispersible liquid. We manufacture it in capsules, powders and liquids.
