DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice)

Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract (deglycyrrhizinated)

DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice) is a root extract of licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), also spelled liquorice, processed to remove most of its glycyrrhizin so the finished grade carries 3% or less. It remains a whole-plant extract retaining the wider licorice constituent matrix, which distinguishes it from the isolated glycyrrhizin and glabridin grades in this family. It is produced as a dry powder suitable for chewable tablets. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet and powder dosage formats.
