Lithium aspartate is the lithium salt of the amino acid L-aspartic acid (CAS 70962-88-8; C4H6LiNO4, MW 139.04). It carries about 5% elemental lithium, a slightly higher load than the orotate because the aspartate ligand is lighter, though still a low-dose form. It is an amino-acid salt rather than the orotic-acid salt, and is a white powder manufactured into tablets and capsules.
