Lithium orotate is the lithium salt of orotic acid (CAS 5266-20-6; C5H3LiN2O4·H2O, MW 180.05), commonly supplied as the monohydrate and the dominant low-dose supplemental lithium form. It carries about 3.9% elemental lithium as the monohydrate, around 4.3% anhydrous, a low elemental load because the orotate ligand dominates the molecular weight. It is a white to off-white powder manufactured into tablets and capsules.
