Creatine Hydrochloride (HCl)

2-[carbamimidoyl(methyl)amino]acetic acid hydrochloride

Creatine hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of creatine (CAS 17050-09-8, C4H10ClN3O2, MW 167.59), formed by pairing the creatine base with hydrochloric acid. As a salt it is noted for high aqueous solubility, in contrast to the anhydrous base and the monohydrate, though the added hydrochloride lowers the creatine content to approximately 78% by mass. It is produced synthetically and supplied as a crystalline powder. It is manufactured in capsule and powder formats.
