Suntheanine is a branded, high-purity grade of L-theanine, the L-isomer of theanine (N-ethyl-L-glutamine; CAS 3081-61-6, C7H14N2O3, MW 174.20), the free amino acid characteristic of tea. It is manufactured by enzymatic bioconversion of L-glutamine and ethylamine, a defined biocatalytic route that yields the single L-configuration rather than a mixture of isomers. It is supplied as a crystalline powder standardized to at least 98% of the pure L-isomer, which distinguishes it from the racemic DL grade that contains both D- and L-forms, and positions it as a defined branded counterpart to non-branded fermentation-derived L-theanine. We manufacture it in capsule, tablet, powder and gummy formats.
