Ferrous Gluconate

Iron(II) gluconate

Ferrous gluconate is the iron(II) salt of gluconic acid (CAS 299-29-6, C12H22FeO14), commonly supplied as the dihydrate (CAS 12389-15-0). As a large organic-acid molecule it carries a comparatively low elemental iron load, near 12% for the anhydrous form and about 11.6% as the dihydrate, well below the fumarate or sulfate salts. The iron is in the reduced +2 state, and the material is a water-soluble yellowish-grey powder manufactured to USP/EP grade. We supply it in tablet, capsule and liquid formats.
