Fursultiamine (TTFD)

Thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide

Fursultiamine, also designated TTFD (CAS 804-30-8), is thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide, a synthetic open-ring thiamine disulfide derivative and allithiamine analog, with the molecular formula C17H26N4O3S2 and a molecular weight of 398.54. It is manufactured by chemical synthesis and standardized at typically 98% or higher; structurally the thiazole ring is opened and the resulting thiol is joined through a disulfide bond to a tetrahydrofurfuryl group. This makes it a lipid-soluble derivative rather than a water-soluble salt like thiamine hydrochloride or mononitrate, and it differs from benfotiamine, an S-acyl phosphate, by its disulfide linkage. It is supplied in powder form, and we manufacture it in tablet, capsule and powder formats.
