RRR-gamma-tocopherol (CAS 54-28-4) is the gamma homolog of the tocopherol family, differing from alpha-tocopherol by one fewer methyl group on the chromanol ring, which gives it a lower molecular weight of 416.7 g/mol (C28H48O2). It is the dominant tocopherol in many vegetable oils and is isolated as a single natural homolog and assayed by HPLC. As a free, unesterified tocopherol it is a fat-soluble oil, distinct from the esterified acetate and succinate grades and from the alpha-only forms. We supply it as an oil for softgels, capsules and liquids.
