Natural Beta-Carotene (Dunaliella salina) is beta,beta-carotene extracted from the halotolerant microalga Dunaliella salina (CAS 7235-40-7, EC 230-636-6; C40H56, MW 536.87). Unlike the synthetic and Blakeslea trispora grades, which are predominantly all-trans, this algal extract carries the characteristic natural mixture of 9-cis and all-trans isomers. It is produced by cultivating the microalga and concentrating the carotenoid from the harvested biomass, then supplied as an oil suspension standardized to roughly 20-30% carotene. We manufacture it in softgel, capsule, tablet and powder formats.
