Valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.) root and rhizome, processed into a dry extract standardized by HPLC to not less than 0.8% valerenic acids. Unlike the family's 4:1 and 10:1 grades, which are defined only by drug-to-extract ratio, this grade is marker-standardized to a defined valerenic-acids content and is the most common analytically standardized valerian extract. It remains a whole native extract rather than an isolated single compound. The material is a fine brown dry-extract powder. We manufacture it into capsules, tablets, and softgels.
