Benfotiamine

Benfotiamine (CAS 22457-89-2) is S-benzoylthiamine O-monophosphate, a synthetic open-ring (thiol-form) thiamine derivative with the molecular formula C19H23N4O6PS and a molecular weight of 466.45. It is manufactured by chemical synthesis and standardized at typically 98% or higher, with a benzoyl group bonded to the sulfur atom and a phosphate group at the hydroxyl position of the opened thiazole ring. It differs from the thiamine hydrochloride and mononitrate salts in being lipid-soluble rather than water-soluble, and it differs from the disulfide derivatives fursultiamine and sulbutiamine in carrying a single S-acyl phosphate group rather than a disulfide bridge. It is supplied in powder form, and we manufacture it in capsule, tablet and powder formats.
