Monosodium Phosphate

Sodium dihydrogen phosphate (monobasic sodium phosphate)

Monosodium phosphate is the monobasic sodium salt of phosphoric acid (CAS 7558-80-7; NaH2PO4, MW 119.98), in which a single sodium ion replaces one hydrogen of the acid. It supplies phosphorus, about 26% on the anhydrous basis, along with sodium, and is the most acidic of the common sodium phosphate grades. Highly water-soluble, it is widely used as a buffering salt and is recognised as food additive E339(i); it is also supplied as the monohydrate and dihydrate. We manufacture it as a white crystalline powder for powders, liquids and capsules.
