Disodium Phosphate

Disodium hydrogen phosphate (dibasic sodium phosphate)

Disodium phosphate is the dibasic sodium salt of phosphoric acid (CAS 7558-79-4; Na2HPO4, MW 141.96), carrying two sodium ions and one remaining acidic hydrogen. It supplies phosphorus, about 22% on the anhydrous basis, along with sodium, and is more alkaline than the monobasic monosodium phosphate. It is highly water-soluble, serves as a buffering salt, and is recognised as food additive E339(ii); hydrated grades are also traded. We manufacture it as a white crystalline powder for powders, liquids and capsules.
