Garlic Extract (Bulb), Alliin-Standardized

Allium sativum (bulb) extract

Alliin-Standardized Garlic Extract is a concentrated bulb extract of garlic (Allium sativum) standardized to alliin, the shelf-stable precursor that enzymatically converts to allicin. It is typically set to 2.5%-5% alliin. It differs from the allicin-standardized grade in that the assay marker is the stable precursor rather than allicin itself, and from the aged-garlic extract, which is standardized to S-allyl cysteine. Compared with the whole bulb powder it is a marker-defined concentrate, and compared with garlic oil it is a dry extract rather than a distilled sulfur oil. It is a dry powdered extract manufactured in capsules and tablets.
