L-Ornithine hydrochloride is the monohydrochloride salt of L-ornithine (CAS 3184-13-2, C5H13ClN2O2, MW 168.62) and the standard soluble commercial form of ornithine. It is produced by combining fermentation-derived L-ornithine with hydrochloric acid, giving a stable, highly water-soluble crystalline powder. The chloride counter-ion lowers the ornithine content per gram relative to the free base while improving flow and moisture stability. We manufacture it in powder, capsule and tablet formats.
