Strontium Gluconate

Strontium D-gluconate

Strontium gluconate is the strontium salt of gluconic acid, strontium D-gluconate (CAS 10101-21-0; C12H22O14Sr, MW 477.91), carrying two gluconate ligands per strontium ion. Because the gluconate anion is large it carries only about 18% elemental strontium, the lowest load in the range, but it is highly water-soluble, unlike the dense but poorly soluble carbonate. It is a white powder manufactured into capsules, tablets and powder blends.
