Calcium Lactate

Calcium 2-hydroxypropanoate

Calcium lactate is the calcium salt of lactic acid (calcium 2-hydroxypropanoate, CAS 814-80-2), manufactured synthetically and most commonly isolated as the pentahydrate. On an anhydrous basis it carries roughly 18% elemental calcium, dropping to about 13% as the pentahydrate, placing it between the low-load gluconate and the denser citrate. As a soluble organic-acid salt it dissolves far more readily than the carbonate or phosphate forms. It is supplied as a white crystalline powder to USP/FCC specification. We manufacture it in tablets, capsules and powders.
