Calcium Bisglycinate

Calcium bis(glycinate)

Calcium bisglycinate is a calcium amino-acid chelate (calcium bis(glycinate), CAS 35947-07-0, molecular weight 188.20) in which one calcium ion is coordinated by two glycine molecules, rather than existing as a simple mineral salt. It is produced synthetically by fully reacting a calcium source with glycine and carries roughly 21% elemental calcium. Being a chelate rather than an inorganic or organic-acid salt sets it apart structurally from every other form in this family, and it is standardized to a stated elemental calcium content. It is supplied as a white to off-white powder. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets and powders.
