Sulforaphane

Glucoraphanin (Broccoli)

(R)-4-(methylsulfinyl)butyl glucosinolate

Glucoraphanin is the glucosinolate precursor of sulforaphane, (R)-4-(methylsulfinyl)butyl glucosinolate (CAS 21414-41-5; C12H23NO10S3, molecular weight 437.51), standardised from broccoli (Brassica oleracea) seed and sprout material. It is the intact, stable glucosinolate that is converted to sulforaphane by the enzyme myrosinase, and it is often supplied together with an active myrosinase source. Unlike the family's stabilised sulforaphane grade, it carries the glucose and sulfate of the parent glucosinolate, giving it a higher molecular weight and greater stability than the free isothiocyanate. We manufacture it in capsules, tablets and powders.
