Bis(maltolato)oxovanadium(IV)

Bis(maltolato)oxovanadium, BMOV (CAS 38213-69-3; C12H10O7V, MW 317.15), is a defined organic vanadium(IV) complex in which an oxovanadium centre is coordinated by two maltol-derived (maltolato) ligands. It carries about 16% vanadium, a low load reflecting the two organic ligands, and keeps the vanadium in the +4 oxidation state like vanadyl sulfate but within a chelate rather than a simple salt. It is a defined crystalline complex supplied as a coloured powder. We manufacture it into capsules and powder blends.
