Vanadyl acetylacetonate is a defined organic vanadium(IV) complex, bis(acetylacetonato)oxovanadium (CAS 3153-26-2; C10H14O5V, MW 265.16), in which an oxovanadium centre is coordinated by two acetylacetonate ligands. It carries about 19% vanadium and, like BMOV, holds the vanadium in the +4 state within a chelate rather than as the inorganic sulfate or vanadate salts. It is a blue-green crystalline solid soluble in polar organic solvents. We manufacture it into capsules and powder blends.
